Watch: Charles Leclerc Considers Shaving His Head During Esports Race

After Lando Norris nearly shaved off his hair, a few fans called for Charles Leclerc to follow suit. The Monegasque is currently raising money for charity in the fight against COVID-19 via his Twitch account. Leclerc and 5 other F1 drivers are aiming to reach $100k in donations by next Friday. One particular fan asked Leclerc if he would consider cutting his hair at 100k donations and the Monegasque had an interesting reply.

As a part of a fundraiser for charity, Charles Leclerc and 5 other F1 drivers have organized Esports events. The septet will conduct 3 events with 2 races each day as part of the Virtual Championship for charity. George Russell, Alex Albon, Lando Norris, Antonio Giovinazzi and Nicholas Latifi will join Leclerc in the event titled- Race For the World.

While practicing before the first Virtual race, one cheeky fan requested Leclerc to part with his hair. Thankfully, Leclerc swiftly denied the request but said he would consider growing his hair for a long time.

“I might not as much as Lando, I can either let my hair grow for, let’s say a month and a half”, believe me, guys”

“But to cut it I’m not so up for this, sorry”

For the unaware, Lando Norris nearly went fully bald after reaching his donation target. The Briton kept his word and streamed his transformation to ‘Baldo Norris’ to thousands of fans. Ferrari would probably disapprove of Leclerc losing all his hair.

While not all the current drivers on the grid have adapted to Esports, the newer generation seems to love it. Charles Leclerc joined Twitch just over a week ago and he’s taken the streaming platform by storm.

The Monegasque took a commanding win at his first esports event. Leclerc won the Virtual Australian Grand Prix in his first competitive outing as an esports driver. Charles also often streams his gameplay to fans via his official Twitch account.

F1 will hold round 3 of the Virtual Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit to emulate the Chinese Grand Prix.
