On Sunday, Daniel Suarez emerged victorious at the Sonoma Raceway. In the process, he became the fifth non-American NASCAR Cup winner. However, there is an even bigger statistic that will make the 30-year-old proud. As of the 2022 season, the country of Mexico can boast of a race winner in Formula One, NASCAR as well as IndyCar. Aside from Suarez, his compatriots and fellow race winners are F1’s Sergio Perez and IndyCar’s Pato O’Ward.

Red Bull F1 driver Perez recently won at the Monaco Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Arrow McLaren’s O’Ward won the Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. In all, it has been a great achievement for Mexico as a motorsport nation.

If it was just Chastain, it could be chalked up to him understanding the car better. However, now that Suarez has joined the party, it proves that Trackhouse Racing as a whole, should not be underestimated.
