There’s no doubt that Charles Leclerc has the potential to win the F1 title in the future. The Monegasque is one of the quickest drivers on the grid, and driving his Ferrari machinery at high speed is rarely a problem for Leclerc. However, Charles revealed in an interview about a car that was tougher than his F1 car to drive. The 5 Grand Prix winner also revealed the name of the car that’s worth $15K, much to the shock of many fans.

Which car did the Monegasque find tougher to drive than Ferrari

The F1-75 might be the fastest Ferrari Charles Leclerc has driven yet. But, it wasn’t the toughest car according to him. Charles Leclerc named FIAT’s 1969 500 as the car that is tougher to drive than the $145 million race car he drives on race days.

Charles said in an interview with Giorgio Armani, “My first car, I knew how to drive it, but it was tougher than the one I used to drive on track. It was a 1969 Fiat 500 with… how do you call it? Double clutch.”

The Monegasque driver further added, “I think that’s the name in Italian. I used to crunch the gears a bit, but in the end, it ran its final kilometers in good shape.”

Ferrari find themselves in a bit of a pickle after the departure of Mattia Binotto. However, Leclerc’s Spanish teammate Carlos Sainz credits the Italian boss with bringing stability to the team. Furthermore, he also hopes that the close relationship between Leclerc and his new boss, Frederic Vasseur, is good for the team.

Charles Leclerc and Frederic Vasseur would reunite once more at Ferrari. The former Alfa Romeo CEO and Team Principal was announced as Binotto’s replacement by Ferrari. And Ferrari’s second driver Carlos Sainz remains hopeful that Leclerc and Vasseur’s special relationship would help the team from the get-go.

The Spaniard stated, as reported by Sportsmole, “Mattia meant a lot to me in my first two years at Ferrari. He listened to me and he trusted me. Ferrari is also in a better place, thanks to him.”

He continued, “I think I get along well with him (Frederic Vasseur) and he will be happy with me when he sees me at work. I think his relationship with Charles is also good for the team. It can ensure that he feels more at home within the team.”
