This weekend, Formula One heads to Silverstone for the second double-header of the 2020 season. Once again, Mercedes enter the race as the favorites, with Lewis Hamilton eager to win yet another home race.
However, the last two races have fallen prey to rain throughout the weekend. So, the big question is, will the British Grand Prix continue this trend this weekend and the next one as well?

There is a massive stereotype that the weather in England can be unpredictable. Fortunately, the good news is that the current forecast suggests that drivers will be able to race on a bone dry track.
This does not mean that racing in the dry conditions will be a cakewalk, as there will be other challenges to contend with.
Haas F1’s Romain Grosjean so rightly pointed out, “First of all, with Silverstone, you need to see what the weather’s going to be like. It’s Great Britain, you can have a lot of surprises, but that’s the first thing to check.
“Silverstone completely switches from being a fast circuit to a low-speed circuit.”

What does the British Grand Prix have in store?
Admittedly, Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, Alex Albon, and George Russell will be disappointed to race in front of empty stands. However, they know of the potential dangers of the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions are there for a reason.
Some may suggest that Mercedes have an advantage since they have been dominant, but there are others lurking.

Red Bull did not have a particularly good run at Silverstone last year. So the Austrian team does not have particularly high hopes, but they will try their hardest to take the fight to Mercedes.
Meanwhile, Scuderia Ferrari endured a shaky start, but have since revamped their technical staff and brought in a familiar face.
Aside from the Big 3 F1 teams, the likes of Racing Point and McLaren have proven to be massive podium threats. Those two will be extra motivated as they are both on home soil as well.
