Sergio Perez will be leaving Racing Point by the end of this season. But the decision by the team created a lot of controversy among the fans, considering Perez’s recent form. Amidst such backlash, Perez has now released a heart-warming message to Racing Point on Twitter.

Ever since Racing Point decided to leave Perez out of the team, there were a lot of misunderstandings, not just among the fans but within the team as well.

Perez sent a positive message to Racing Point on Twitter, clearing the air around the situation between himself and the team.

“I have known this team for seven years and they are like family. I have spoken to the team and they accept my explanation. (there’s no way that after 7 years we can finish in bad terms, the air is totally cleared.)

“And we all want the same thing: to score as many points and be successful in our remaining races together,” read his message.

Perez finished his message to Racing Point on positive intent. He mentioned that he wants to end his time with the team on a high note. The message read, “We will push and go for more podiums in this 8th final races together.”

The 4-time World Champion, Sebastian Vettel, will replace the Mexican come 2021. The team also revealed that they needed Vettel’s experience to aim for the championship fight.

During the press conference at Sochi, Perez jokingly mentioned that he “hates” Sebastian. But the very next moment, he clarified that he does not hold any hatred against Vettel.

“No, of course, I have nothing against Seb. He’s a great guy and driver who goes on board with a fantastic team. I wish I could have continued with this team because it looks good, especially for next year, “said the Mexican.

Sergio Perez is yet to find a seat for the next season. But looking at his recent form in F1, it would be a shame if he ends up without a drive.
