Carlos Sainz Makes Brutally Honest Claim Regarding Ferrari F1 Dynamic With Charles Leclerc Ahead of Critical Spanish GP

The 2022 Formula 1 season has moved to Barcelona for the sixth round, the Spanish GP, which is also the home race for Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso. After the Saturday qualifying, the Ferrari driver is among the favorites to win the race. And he himself is looking forward to winning the Spanish GP.
The 27-year-old still hasn’t tasted victory in his F1 career, while his teammate Charles Leclerc has already won two races this season. Further, the Monegasque teammate is also leading the race for the championship title, while Sainz ranks P5 on the drivers’ standings. So now, the Spaniard is eyeing winning his first race at his home ground, the Spanish GP.

After the qualifying, a journalist asked Sainz if he could talk with Leclerc to help him win the home race, and then Sainz could help Charles win his home race in Monaco next week.
However, the Ferrari man didn’t like the question and gave a witty reply to the journalist. Sainz reported, “I don’t need favors from Charles or anyone. And he doesn’t need mine either.”

“We are here to race, and we are fighting for the championship. It doesn’t matter if it’s your home race or not.”
Carlos Sainz targets winning the home race
Reports are suggesting that over 100,000 fans would come to support Sainz. Further, the Ferrari driver will even have a stand named after him. Undoubtedly, the massive support from such a vast crowd will boost Sainz’s motivational boost.
The Spanish F1 driver said he’s eagerly eyeing winning the home race, and it is one of his priorities on Sunday. Sainz said, “It would be great. It is my target. That is what I’m going to try tomorrow.”
