What a race! What a way to start the season for Ferrari and Charles Leclerc. The Ferrari driver was impeccable throughout the race as he romped through to the victory. Leclerc managed the race perfectly as he fended off the challenge from Red Bull driver and world champion Max Verstappen throughout the race.

In the end, it was a Ferrari 1-2 after both Red Bulls retired from the race in the dying moments. During the podium celebrations, his teammate Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton joined him.

After they had celebrated by spraying the champagne, the Mercedes driver offered Charles to be lifted up to celebrate his win. But the Monegasque driver hilariously declined the offer and continued his celebrations.

Ferrari was the fastest team throughout the weekend in Bahrain. Before the start of the season, Leclerc was cautious in his predictions. He also mentioned that he would hope the team would fight for wins in 2022.

Charles Leclerc optimistic about the 2022 season

As reported by Formula1.com, the Monegasque driver was silently optimistic about his chances in the 2022 season. After seeing the pace of his Ferrari in preseason testing. he also added that he was hopeful that they could fight for wins in the upcoming season.

“I think our objective is to try and fight for wins whenever we can. Realistically, if I need to make a guess now, I would say we are a little bit behind Red Bull. But Mercedes, we don’t know. We really have no idea where they are, but for sure they will be in the front, in the top three,” said Leclerc.
