Charles Leclerc is one of the most honest drivers on the grid. This means that sometimes, he can be almost too hard on himself. His ‘I am stupid’ rants on team radios after making a mistake in races are already achieving legendary status. So you can count on him giving his honest opinion, something that is uncharacteristic of most Formula 1 drivers on the grid.

Leclerc wants Hamilton & Verstappen to drive for his team

The Monegasque took part in a Q&A session before the Sakhir GP with Ziggo Sport. The Dutch news channel is very popular among the F1 community for its humorous nature. However, this time they put him in a spot of bother with some serious questions.

“Which two drivers will drive in your team if you were the team boss?”asked the interviewer.

Lewis and Max, was the reply from Leclerc. This was certainly not something that the ‘Tifosi’ would want to hear.

The 2-time race winner neither picked himself nor his teammate Sebastian Vettel. It can only mean that he considers Max and Lewis as the best drivers on the grid. Most F1 drivers will pick themselves. However, it only shows Leclerc’s willingness to improve to reach that level himself.

Charles Leclerc wants to help with car development

The Ferrari driver wants to improve in one specific area.

“You can always improve, but if one particular thing, probably the development of the car. To try to help the team in the best way. Something quite new to me because before Formula 1 you don’t get to experience those things. But yeah, this.”
