Charles Leclerc had an incredible first season with Ferrari and claimed eight podium finishes and two race wins in 2019. However, in 2020, there was a drop in the Maranello outfit’s performance and the Monegasque could manage only two podium finishes with no race wins.

During his third year with Ferrari, the team has performed better than expected in the opening race. There are clear signs of improvement as both Maranello drivers finished within the top-10 in Bahrain. However, their chances of race wins and regular podium finishes still seem highly doubtful.

In a recent interview, Leclerc was answering a question inviting comparison with opposition teams on the grid. Instead of the negatives, the Monegasque focused on one key aspect that makes the Maranello outfit stand out in Formula 1.

“I was very young when I took the opportunity to watch the Monaco GP from a friend’s balcony. On the streets, I was only looking for the red car. I can’t even explain to you why. I was probably born as a Ferrari fan without knowing it,” he shared.
