Charles Leclerc has chosen a World title over Monaco GP victory! Honestly, this was not an easy choice given Leclerc has finished not once in Monaco, his hometown. However, the lucrative dream of winning a world championship can faze and tumble many. Understandably, every driver grows up hoping for a title win at some point in life.

Leclerc, as a Monegasque, undoubtedly desires a Monacan win someday. The 24-year-old has finished no race in the county to date. In fact, the Scuderia driver even started on pole in 2021, despite crashing the car on the final flying lap. However, a left Driveshaft issue did not allow the team to even get his car to start the race.

While even this year, the driver has driven absolutely magnificently; he has not escaped bad luck. Just in the last race, Spanish Grand Prix, the young driver, after leading for several laps, had to retire his car due to an MGU-H and turbo failure.

However, despite not finishing the last race, the driver is positive for a Monaco win. Leclerc, in a recent interview, revealed how a world title is important, but so is Monaco, and he wants to start by winning there.

He said, “I really love Monaco but if I had to keep only one, it would be the world title. But it’s not like I really have a choice (laughs), so I’ll try to do both in order by first winning here and then the championship. Seems like the right compromise to me.”

F1 Fans Pity ‘Cursed’ Charles Leclerc as Rain Threat Looms Over Monaco GP

Having never finished at his home GP is something that Leclerc will look to turn around. Many fans will hope for his first win at the venue, as he currently sits 6 points behind Max Verstappen. Though Leclerc managed a big lead on the Dutchman, fast-paced Red Bull developments soon caught up.

Focusing solely on Charles‘s form; the driver has achieved majority poles in the last 6 races. In fact, he gave a memorable lap in Spain, where he spun around and lost out on vital time. However, with a few seconds left on the clock, Leclerc pulled off an amazing lap and took pole from Verstappen, who was suffering from DRS issues on Saturday as well.
