In his first year in Formula 1 with McLaren, the team was amidst a major industrial espionage scandal. However, Hamilton was more focused on the rumors regarding his dating life. However, the now-Mercedes man cleared up the confusion while speaking to journalists, as reported by The Guardian. “I gave her a hand to help her out of the car,” an amused Hamilton explained. “I was just being a gentleman.”

The then 22-year-old was on top of the world with his incredible record-breaking performances in the first nine races. Naturally, there was a lot of attention on him. In fact, that attention soon turned into a target, which he feels is still true to this day.
