The Eifel Grand Prix did not get off to a good start as both the sessions on Friday were canceled owing to terrible weather. While waiting for the session to start, Mick Schumacher decided to pay a visit to the Ferrari’s garage.
Sebastian Vettel, who will be running Michael Schumacher’s helmet design this weekend, used the opportunity to show the design to Schumacher Jr.
Vettel, as a tribute to his childhood hero, revealed that he will be running with the 7-time World Champion’s helmet design during the weekend at Nürburgring.

Mick who took a stroll by the Ferrari garage ended up having a conversation with his compatriot. In the video, Vettel can be seen showing his helmet design to Mick. And both even had a long talk about the helmet.
Apart from speaking with Vettel, the F2 driver also had a chat with Vettel’s father, Norbert Vettel. But overall, Mick could cherish this moment with the 4-time World Champion as one of the proudest moments in his career.
Mick Schumacher Hoping for Another Practice Session
Mick Schumacher had a rather disappointing day at the office. He would have come into this weekend with high hopes of taking part in an F1 session for the first time. But unfortunately, the bad weather shackled him to the pits.
While speaking to Formula 1, he opened up about his time with the team on Friday. “Obviously, I would have loved to be able to get out and drive,” Mick says.

“Nevertheless, I think it’s great to be here, to get the opportunity to speak with the team, go into the meetings, and work with the mechanics, work with the engineers.

“And obviously, also see the fans. I’m also very sorry for the fans, who don’t get to see us drive. In the end, safety comes first.”
But Mick also mentioned that his time with the engineers in the garage was still helpful in developing himself as a driver. “[It’s] very useful for me. I managed to get as much experience as I can from this weekend. And that was really the focus for me,” Mick says.

The F2 driver revealed that he was uncertain about getting another session with the team in the future. “We don’t know what the future holds,” he says. “But hopefully I’ll get to drive a few laps again.”
Mick may have missed out on this incredible chance of taking part in an F1’s session. But his potential move to Alfa Romeo as a full-time driver next season means that he will still get another chance later this season.
