Mick Schumacher has signed a deal with the Haas F1 team next year. He will join fellow rookie Nikita Mazepin as his Haas teammate. Schumacher is filling in big shoes in Formula 1 as the son of seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher.
The name appears to have destined Mick for a racing career. His performance in Formula 2 guaranteed his Formula 1 place this year, as he is currently on the top of F2 standings and set to win the championship.
His famous name has always drawn attention towards his racing career. Meanwhile, his brilliant performances in Formula 3 and Formula 2 have solidified his racecraft.

While he started his motorsports career in 2008, he got the taste of driving cars much earlier in his life.
Mick Schumacher was just a year old when he got behind a wheel for the first time. His father, Michael Schumacher, held his hands on the steering while sitting beside young Mick Schumacher.

When he first entered the motorsport field in 2008, he raced in go-karts under his mother’s maiden name, Betsch to not draw any unwanted attention because of his father’s name.
Schumacher Sr suffered severe injuries in a skiing accident in 2013, which made a significant impact on 14-year-old Mick’s life. In interviews since then, he has referred to his father as his idol and role model.

Mick claimed he was left speechless after the news became official. He thanked his family and Ferrari Driver Academy for entrusting him with a Formula 1 car. “The prospect of being on the Formula 1 grid next year makes me incredibly happy and I’m simply speechless,” he said.

The only question persisting is whether Mick will live up to the Schumacher legacy of his father Michael and Uncle Ralf. Haas will depend on his performance to help take them back to the midfield in the standings. Meanwhile, the German seems ready to make his much-awaited Formula 1 debut.
