After a long and glorious reign, Queen Elizabeth II now rests. The United Kingdom’s longest-serving monarch has left her mark on the country, and with it, F1. From knighting Sir Lewis Hamilton among other F1 drivers to witnessing the first Grand Prix in Silverstone, the Queen has seen it all; and now the sport pays her its respects.

George Russell shared his grievances at the loss of his monarch. Inspired by leadership, Russell mourned his late Queen.

Other English drivers, too, followed suit. Lando Norris shared his love for the monarch on his Instagram story. Alex Albon paid his respects as well: “Incredible reign. Incredible Queen. Rest in Peace, Your Majesty.”

Considering that most teams find their roots in the UK, the news hit close to home. Alpine joined hands with McLaren, Williams, Red Bull, Mercedes, and Aston Martin to pay their respects.

The Enstone outfit remembered the Queen for her “tolerance, kindness and poise.” The team from Woking shared a tribute to Her Majesty. Williams, from Wantage, eulogized their Queen:

From Milton Keynes, a tribute to the reign of 7 decades; Christian Horner shared his own message: “I had the honor of meeting Her Majesty a couple of times and she will be remembered by a country and commonwealth whom she served for more than seventy years, devoting herself with unreserved dignity and dedication.”

From Brackley, Toto Wolff voiced the emotions on behalf of the Silver Arrows: “The impact she made in the UK and around the world will be felt for generations to come and the values she stood for are the best of all values: dignity, respect, and compassion.” 

And the hailing from Silverstone itself- a tribute to the end of an era:

Truly, the ripples of her majesty’s reign have been felt far and wide, as every team shared their respect. Haas also shared their condolences to the mourning nation, as Mick Schumacher paid his respects.

Ferrari joined in as well- and as F1 makes its way to Monza, for the Red team’s home race, a minute’s silence will be held in honor of Her Majesty. Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz paid his respects as well by sharing his condolences to the people of Britain.

As the tributes pour in, the world remembers its most iconic monarch and the legacy she leaves behind her. Truly, the end of an era- a life well lived, all while touching the hearts of those under her reign.
