Many assume that Fernando Alonso is just a 2-time champion Formula One driver. However, there is more than meets the eye of the Spanish driver. Alonso has his own sustainable clothing line called Kimoa.

The 40-year-old is frequently spotted wearing a Kimoa hat during a Grand Prix weekend. So many wonder what the brand is all about and its origin story? Here is everything that you need to know about Alonso’s company.

The first F1 driver that comes to mind while thinking about fashion is without a doubt, Lewis Hamilton. However, there is another driver on the grid, who has invested his time and money into a sustainable clothing line called Kimoa. It is rumored to have an estimated value of 1 million dollars.

The journey of the Spanish clothing line began in 2016 and was set up commercially a year later. Ever since the 2-times world champion has worn various apparel including personalized caps for each major event in which he races.

The brand offers a variety of products such as racing t-shirts, sunglasses, backpacks, bottles, and scooters. As Fernando is one of the co-founders of the company and an F1 driver, the brand has a huge fan following on Instagram, as of now it has more than sixty thousand followers.

In just a matter of a brief span, Kimoa has shipping to move than seventy-five countries, and Alonso is hoping that the number can grow. Recently, it was acquired by SimplyEV, a place to buy eco-friendly mobility and gear. They are also rumored to open fifty new stores in North America.

The parent company, Revolution Brands International has bought into 75% of the Spanish brand, with Alonso himself keeping twenty-five percent and continuing his role as brand ambassador.

The 40-year-old was spotted on numerous occasions wearing a Kimoa hat in the first half of the season. With the summer break now coming to an end, drivers can’t wait to get behind the wheel at Spa for the Belgium Grand Prix

While, Alonso will also be excited to get back to racing, he won’t miss out on the opportunity to promote his brand. Hence, it won’t be a surprise if Alonso wears some of his clothing line to a Grand Prix weekend.
