Chairman of Ferrari, John Elkann, has confirmed that 2021 Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will relocate to Maranello, in order to be closer to the Italian team.
With Sainz replacing Sebastian Vettel as Leclerc’s partner for next year, the duo will play an important role in designing the Scuderia’s 2021 car.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Elkann said, (translated by Google)“Leclerc and Sainz will have houses in Maranello and will stay as close as possible to our engineers. The new machine will be born with their direct contribution.”

It will be vital for Ferrari to design a better car than the SF1000, especially if they wish to get back to competing at the front of the grid. It is also refreshing to see that both drivers are ready to go the distance for the good of the team.
Of course, current McLaren driver Carlos Sainz is no stranger to that mentality. Relocating for the sake of establishing closer connections with the team is something Sainz is comfortable with.
The Spaniard had relocated to Woking after he joined McLaren so that he could work closely with the team’s engineers. Sainz’s dedication is something that makes him feel that he is one of the most hard-working drivers on the grid.
