The Dutchman who was initially given the nickname “Mad Max”, because of his aggressive driving style, has now come a long way to pick up two consecutive championships.

Christian Horner has always been in awe of the Dutchman’s undivided attention, focus, and skill. He places an undying belief in the young racer to take Red Bull to new heights. With two major world drivers’ championship titles in his back pocket and years of F1 ahead of him, the possibilities for the Austrian team are endless.

Christian Horner got candid in a recent interview, wherein he shared what Verstappen is like behind the wheel and the dynamic that the Dutchman shares with the entire Red Bull team. Horner deemed the world champion as ‘demanding.’ However, he strongly believes that the Dutchman gives back just as much.

In a chat with Formule1.nl, Horner said, “You just know from Max that when you put him in the car, you get 100 percent.”

Sharing his interactions with the star racer, he believes that the criticism holds a lot of value. He continued, “He is demanding, but he also gives a lot back.”

“He just pushes. He pushes himself. Max is as hard on himself as he is on the team,” he said, in conclusion.

According to the Dutchman, preparation is paramount and without it, racing is pointless.

The Red Bull golden boy spoke about his upcoming challenges in another interview. He seemed prepared for the curveballs the game throws at drivers. He believes that without that readiness, there is no point in racing whatsoever.

Talking to The Guardian, he said, “If you’re not prepared, then it’s better to stop already, right?”

In his view, this season was different in comparison to the previous one. “Of course, it’s just that it’s nice to have a season like I had last year but it’s also nice to have a season like I have this year. It just would be very tough if you have that every single year. But that also doesn’t really happen in F1, so it should be okay.”
