Daniel Ricciardo and Renault have really stepped up during the last leg of this season. Ricciardo has clinched two podiums in the last three days and is focusing on ensuring the best possible result for both himself and the team.

However, when it comes to interviews and press conferences, Daniel Ricciardo always tops the list. The Honey Badger is one of the most lovable Formula 1 drivers and never fails to make his fans smile.

During a candid interview with GQ Australia, he answered several questions about his favorite track, his cars, and what a shoey tastes like.

Daniel Ricciardo believes the drivers should be happier

Daniel was asked about what according to him are the worst habits on other drivers. The Australian answered that the drivers appear to a bit unhappy.

He said, “Probably a lack of happiness. It’s so competitive and we all want to win and there’s only one person that can normally win.”

However, he pointed out that there is still a lot to be happy about. “But we’re still like living a very cool life and I feel like sometimes it’s taken for granted and the attitude can be somewhat spoilt,” he further added.

Formula 1 is a highly competitive sport. The grid has only twenty positions and hundreds of thousands of individuals fight for those 20 positions. Sometimes, the pressure could be insurmountable.

Due to the pressure, things can get difficult to handle. Most drivers are young and the competition could take over their life. Ricciardo pointed out, “Yeah, I frown upon that sometimes for sure.”

On a lighter note, Daniel Ricciardo explained what a shoey tastes like. “Shoey tastes like roses,” he said.

“The trick, though, is whatever beverage you’re going to put in it, has to be alcoholic, it has to be cold. The cold, the kind of the chill, kills all the other stuff going on in the shoe,” he further added.

Daniel Ricciardo is currently fighting for P4 with 95 points on the driver standings. However, he is in close competition with Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez. Ricciardo fans will surely be hoping for another trademark celebration, maybe he will rope in another member to his celebration club this weekend.
