Lewis Hamilton: How Ron Dennis Would Have Reacted to His Latest Shirtless Selfie

Lewis Hamilton recently posted a shirtless, unkempt hair “Caveman” look. This isn’t the first time Hamilton posted a shirtless photo. And his lifestyle, hairstyle, tattoos, and clothes are usually a topic of discussion among his fans. The post is doing rounds on social media with people on both sides of the debate. Some calling it hot and other’s not. Matt Bishop joined the debate and took a jibe on Hamilton commenting on his caveman look.

He said “I’m trying how Ron Dennis would have reacted if Lewis Hamilton had presented himself like this on social media in his McLarendays! Ron would have had a fit!”

The tweet garnered a mixed reaction. And many users called Matt on his jibe on Hamilton for his comment on Hamilton’s personality.

Replying to one such twitter, he said “Hahaha! No, I worked with Ron Dennis for 10 years. He loathes social media, dislikes long and/or untidy hair on men. Thinks tattoos are “common”, and wouldn’t appreciate his driver posting shirtless selfies!”

Matt Bishop is currently the communication director of W-Series. The 1st female-only major racing championship. He joined McLaren in 2008 as Director of Media, Content, and Communications. And later the Chief Communications Officer of McLaren F1. He worked closely with Ron Dennis, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, and Fernando Alonso. He left McLaren in 2017 and joined W Series as Communications Director in 2018.

Ron Dennis was the one who gave Hamilton his 1st big break. He signed the young brit under the McLaren young driver program in 1998. At 9 years of age, Lewis introduced himself to Dennis saying “Hi. I’m Lewis Hamilton. I won the British Championship and one day I want to be racing your cars.”

Ron Dennis is the guy credited to build McLaren into what it is today. He was with McLaren from 1980 to 2017. And led the team through it’s most glorious years of the late 1980s to mid-1990s. Under his command were the sports greatest drivers including Niki Lauda to Ayrton Senna to Lewis Hamilton. And one of the best cars’s ever made, the McLaren  MP4/2.
