Lewis Hamilton Reveals One of His Most Memorable Moment in Formula One

As the F1 circus moves to Silverstone, Mercedes driver and 6-time World Champion, Lewis Hamilton, took the opportunity to reminisce on his first-ever win home Grand Prix win.
Hamilton’s maiden win at Silverstone came in 2008, in what was just his second season of Formula One racing.
The Briton, then racing for McLaren, beat the likes of Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen, among others, to bag his maiden British Grand Prix victory.

It was a season in which a 23-year-old Hamilton would edge out Felipe Massa by a point, consequently, becoming the youngest ever World Champion in the history of F1.
However, that record was broken by Sebastian Vettel in 2010. But that’s a story for later.
Winning your first ever race in front of your home crowd is a special moment for any F1 driver. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Lewis claims it to be one of his most treasured F1 moments, in a career that hasn’t been short of any.
Nostalgic Lewis Hamilton recalls maiden Silverstone victory
Yesterday, Hamilton took to Twitter and posted a throwback video. It was accompanied by a caption that read, “This was my first win ever F1 win Silverstone win. Definitely one of my favorite and most memorable moments. What’s yours?”
It was indeed a brilliant race from young Lewis who braved the rain to cross the checkered flag in P1. Hamilton’s victory at Silverstone was already his 7th win in just 26 races.

It was a massive sign suggesting this guy could well be a future F1 legend. And boy, did he live up to those lofty standards and then some.
Hamilton will head into this week’s British Grand Prix with 63 points, 5 points ahead of teammate Valtteri Bottas. He will take comfort from the fact that his record in the last 6 years at Silverstone is nearly flawless.
He has won 5 of the last six British Grand Prix and his worst result during that run is P2.

Those numbers will give Lewis a shot in the arm, heading into the next set of triple-headers, as he plots to draw level with Michael Schumacher’s 7 World Championship titles.
