What Records did Hamilton break?
The Bahrain Grand Prix saw unexpected twists towards the end of the race. Mercedes was looking for damage limitation, but Red Bull’s late disaster opened an opportunity. In the end, Lewis Hamilton finished P3, with George Russell ending up in P4 to cap off a successful start to the season.
Hamilton’s third-place finish means he is the sole driver to achieve a podium finish for 16 consecutive seasons. He has been on the podium every single season since he started racing for McLaren in 2007. A run that started in Australian GP in 2007 is still in the front gear in 2022. The fellow seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher, held the previous record.
