What do you do when the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen, ignores you and declares a verbal war against you? You open your next season’s trailer with him. Netflix’s docuseries is back. Drive to Survive Season 5 will reach our screens next week but the marination for the dish to be served has already begun. The OTT giants dropped the trailer of their hugely successful series a few minutes ago. It sent emotional and happy shock waves that it sent across the F1 fandom.

The last season was an overt portrayal of drama that hardly existed. While it drew an even bigger audience for the sport, including the writer of this article, it irked the drivers. Taking a stand against the same, Verstappen decided he won’t be a part of the docuseries. However, little did the fans know that the man who ruled the 2022 season will have the DTS trailer centered around him.

In the trailer, Max is seen giving his view of what it takes to be as dominant. He said, “In Formula 1, you need to be able to adapt. When you need to be aggressive, you need to be aggressive. When you need to be smooth you need to be smooth. When I am in the car, I will never give up.”

The interviewer highlighting the fact that the Dutch lion is back in the DTS world asks, “Max Verstappen, how are you feeling about being in the chair?” To which the shy champion replied, “Umm.. It’s quite comfortable so…”

Lewis Hamilton is also heard seeking redemption from last year’s dramatic end, “It is a new dawn. This season F1 has changed beyond recognition. The points go back to zero. It has to be a comeback.”
