Max Verstappen Accuses Mercedes & Red Bull of Aggravating the Awful Lewis Hamilton ‘Confrontation’ in 2021

The 2022 F1 schedule is moving to the fourth race of the season, but fans still cannot forget about the last season, especially the controversial Abu Dhabi GP. The title-deciding clash between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton is still fresh in everyone’s mind.

Many fans are pointing out that he’s not as aggressive as he used to be last season. But that might not be the case, he just suffering from some car issues. But if we talk about Max’s aggressive driving, then many think that he was the more aggressive in the 2021 season finale.

Recently, someone asked Max whether he was more aggressive in Abu Dhabi last season. To which the reigning champion revealed that the rivalry between the two f1 teams led to that heated finale. Max said, “I think the conflict between Mercedes & Red Bull played a big role in the fight between me & Lewis, as well as all the events that happened during the championship. That exacerbated the confrontation on track.”

Max Verstappen can’t be aggressive with RB18

Max Verstappen is having a rough time with two retirements out of the three races this season so far. Further, Max is struggling with the 2022 challenger RB18, as the car isn’t suiting Max’s driving style.

In the past seasons, Verstappen could easily bring out the race pace from the past challengers. But the new car is not the same for teammate Sergio Perez, who is outperforming Verstappen while he couldn’t match Max last season.

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko revealed the car made following new rules and regulations are not suiting Max. Marko said, “Perez is much closer to Max than was the case in 2021. The simplest explanation for this is the new cars with less downforce suit some drivers better and others less.”

“Perez is very happy with the set-up of the car,” Marko further stated. “Max finds it even harder. He hasn’t found the right balance yet and, therefore, doesn’t have the fullest confidence in the car. His aggressive driving style doesn’t quite go together with the new cars.”
