Reports of a Mercedes team member testing COVID-19 positive had surfaced recently. Although the team kept the identity of the person under wraps, the threat was imminent.

“Following yesterday’s positive test, the entire team was retested yesterday in Germany. All team members were negative apart from: one further positive, one inconclusive that is being retested.” read the team’s tweet.

And the only take away from the Silver Arrows’ update is that things have gotten worse. A total of three members already face the threat of being positive. The virus is a curse unto the entire world, yet Mercedes refuse to let it affect their performance at the Eifel Grand Prix.

The team has never been one to back down. This is not the first time they face a challenge. Mercedes is confident that they will make it out of this ordeal as the victor.

“In line with protocols, four further team members, all of whom tested negative, will no longer be available to take part in the weekend. Six replacements have traveled from the UK and will fill the roles in the team.” retweeted the team.
