The Italian Grand Prix 2020 was probably the best race in recent times. The race at Monza had everything from an early brake failure to a horrific crash to a repositioning of the leaderboard. Monza turned out to be the Colosseum where peak racing drama was staged. Demolishing the Mercedes domination, Pierre Gasly went on to win his maiden Grand Prix title.

Early high-speed brake failure caused Sebastian Vettel to retire from the race. Charles Leclerc followed suit soon with a brutal crash. The youngster rammed into the tire barriers but luckily walked away unhurt. The incident caused the red flag to be deployed soon.

Lewis Hamilton was leading the race and was looking comfortable to win his 90th. However, he went into the pitlane when it was closed. The incident was a violation of Formula 1 rules and regulations, and Hamilton was penalized. He was given a 10 seconds stop-go penalty.

Hamilton was pushed down the order. Looks like his 90th Grand Prix win will have to wait as he finished P7.

The crazy race wowed Formula 1 fans. After a long time, any Grand Prix was devoid of Hamilton’s one-sided domination. People took to Twitter to express their ecstatic reactions.

“Who else is crying? F1. BLOODY HELL.”

Charles Leclerc suffered a traumatizing crash this afternoon. Although he remained unscathed, he had to retire from the race. Young Leclerc displayed his sportsman spirit after he was seen congratulating Pierre Gasly on his maiden Grand Prix title.
