Mercedes had a tough couple of weekends in the Middle East. Right from Lewis Hamilton testing positive for COVID-19 to Russell replacing him inside the AMGs, it has been a rollercoaster ride.

However, none could be severe enough to let them pass without humor. After they posted the video of the AMGs doing donuts at Yas Marina on Twitter, the comment section was nothing less than a battlefield.

Previously Red Bull took a dig at Racing Point, taunting them of copying the W11s design again for next year. Before the Austrian team could stop smirking about the joke on Racing Point, Mercedes darted one right back at them.

Well, we are getting used to Mercedes having the last laugh, aren’t we?

Red Bull had a cracking weekend in Abu Dhabi. With Max Verstappen dominating the entire weekend and even Alex Albon scoring a P4 at the Grand Prix, Red Bull hauled maximum points.

However, they would be happier had they assumed such form earlier. Well, Mercedes took a dig on this and it must have hit Red Bull hard.

In the comment where Red Bull roasts Racing Point, a fan expressed his grief over Red Bull commenting late as he could have included that in a video he made. Well, that set the stage for Mercedes to take the jab.

“Red Bull turning up late again,” read the reply.

Doesn’t seem much? Well, read it again and tally it with Red Bull’s performance this year.

Mercedes may have Red Bull pressing harder in 2021

Red Bull did very little besides chasing Mercedes this season. After an early win by Max Verstappen at the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix, it was a draught. No matter how hard they pushed, they couldn’t get past the AMGs.

Even if Alex Albon had found his form earlier, Red Bull would have been in a better position now. They concluded the season with almost 250 points behind Mercedes. They could have bridged the gap a bit, however, it is not so, and discussing this is futile.

Max Verstappen appears optimistic about the future. He threatened Hamilton all throughout the season, and when he eventually beat him, he felt relieved.

Verstappen wants Red Bull to be at the front a bit earlier so they can put the pressure on them. Yet, he is happy to set foot into the off-season on a positive note.

“We go into the winter with a good feeling. It’s always nice to win the last race, especially with a year like this year, it’s been hard on everyone. I just hope we learn from our mistakes in the beginning of the year,“ concluded the Dutchman.

Well, that sounds good from the Red Bull number 33, and hopefully, he comes back stronger next season.
