The preseason testing concluded and brought out things that we didn’t see coming our way. There were a few disappointments, such as McLaren, and a few uprisings, which certainly included Aston Martin, as we saw Fernando Alonso standing in the top three of the charts for two days out of three. 

And not just this, the experts, too, believe this season could finally be the one where the team rises after a disastrous season last year. The team didn’t even test all of its packages. Yet they carried a lot of promise with some great consistency and performance. Despite all the good news, Aston Martin’s CEO Mike Krack has decided not to get ahead of himself and to remain cautious.

As quoted by Motorsport, he said, “I think Fernando said it earlier, there are no miracles in F1. These dynamics that you can sometimes get, like someone says it’s good, and it’s very good. It’s like when the word goes around the children at school. So I think we need to keep our feet on the ground.”

“Our expectations are always high, and this time of year, everybody wants to do well and talk others into some roles. We are realists. We have clear objectives that is to improve compared to where we were last year. And then we will see.”

Fernando Alonso seems to have already brought about a change at Aston Martin with this sudden shift in mindset, which can prove challenging for the rest of the grid. Classic Alonso!

If you think that the best of Aston Martin has come in, you’re wrong. Because despite the team’s tremendous show in Bahrain, Fernando Alonso has sent a message that will only make other teams wonder about the sudden influx of speed in the green team.

Fernando was quoted by the GP Fans as saying, “Obviously, it is now go time. We need to make the car as fast as possible for next week, for race one, but we feel that there is a lot more to come from the car. We didn’t have time just in testing (to unlock everything) with only three days.”
