Max Verstappen is one of the best drivers on the grid in Formula One. He lifted his maiden world championship last season and is currently leading the world championship from Charles Leclerc. The Red Bull driver is clearly in his prime at the pinnacle of motorsports.

During his interview with Sky Sports, Verstappen was asked which driver he would really like to face in their prime in F1. The Dutch driver’s answer was a bit surprising, as he did not pick the likes of Michael Schumacher or Ayrton Senna.

“The only thing I’m really curious about is actually to face my own dad in his prime. I actually would like to see that, like to see the differences between us,” said Verstappen. Max added he’d win against his dad because both drivers would want that.

“I think from both sides that would be the target. Because that’s what he told me already from when we started racing. He wanted me to be a better driver,” said the world champion.

Which Country Has the Most F1 Championships?

It would be so fascinating to see a race between a prime Max Verstappen and the prime Jos Verstappen. Being already familiar with each other’s driving styles, both drivers would put up a tough fight.

But the current challenge that the Red Bull driver has on his hands is from Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. F1 is currently racing in the iconic Monaco GP this weekend, which is the home race of Leclerc.

But this time Leclerc will provide a stiffer challenge as compared to last season. Leclerc appears to be the favorite to take the pole position and the win, looking at the performance of the Ferrari in the Free Practice sessions in Monaco.
