Formula One took a huge hit in fans’ attendance during a Grand Prix weekend because of the Coronavirus pandemic. However, in 2021 things are returning to normal. After the Brazilian Grand Prix, the Qatar Grand Prix is next on the F1 calendar.

With attendance being allowed at the previous venues this year, fans are wondering how many people will be allowed at Losail International Circuit for its inaugural F1 race?

How many spectators should be expected for the Qatar Grand Prix?

Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation President Abdulrahman al-Mannai is hoping to have a hundred percent capacity for the upcoming race in Qatar. He also mentioned that people need to have both doses for the Covid-19 vaccine or need to have anti-bodies. With the circuit having the ability to accommodate eight thousand fans, it won’t be a surprise to see the Qatar GP at full capacity.

Speaking Agence France-Presse as quoted by Daily Sabha, he said, “We’re trying to maximize the occasion (and) we’re trying to add more to the Formula One event.I think we will see some nice surprises during the weekend of the Formula One.”

“Of course we’re expecting it to be full because ever since we announced the Formula One the demand has been off the charts. The current procedures within Qatar allow us to have 100% capacity as long as individuals are vaccinated or they have proof that they have the COVID-19 antibodies,” he concluded.

What’s the schedule for F1 in Qatar?

Formula One drivers will first zip around the track in the first Free Practice session on Friday at 1 30 PM local time. While FP2 will happen a few hours later at 5 PM.

For the final practice session of the F1 weekend, drivers will zip around the track at 2 PM. After FP3 is over teams and drivers will get ready for the intense qualifying session which will set the grid for Sunday’s race. The qualifying session will start at 5 PM local time and will end at 6 PM.
