Romain Grosjean had yet another miserable race weekend at Sochi. His performance has only dented his chance of keeping his seat for the next season. Haas’s boss Guenther Steiner does not seem to be worried about Grosjean underperforming. But Grosjean’s constant chatter on the team radio in blaming the car has annoyed the team’s boss.

Formula 1 would witness Grosjean complaining about his car at least once on a race weekend. Recently, his weekend at Sochi has justified the statement. Before the qualifying, he was unsurprisingly heard blaming the car. “There is nothing we can do about the car,” said Grosjean on the team radio. He also mentioned that he is getting “a little tired of it all“.

Guenther is not happy with Grosjean’s constant complaining on the team radio. “What happened to Romain was documented extremely well in the TV broadcast,” said Guenther. “He speaks to people so I do not have to do it to you or in the press release.

He told very clearly what he thinks about the car. Good for him”

Romain Grosjean crossed the line in P17 at Sochi. While his teammate, Kevin Magnussen, was fighting for the points over most parts of the race. Eventually, he ended up finishing the race in P12.

This is not the only instance where Magnussen beat Grosjean in the teammate battle. Over most part this season, Magnussen has stayed ahead of the Frenchman.

Romain Grosjean is at the bottom of the drivers’ standings with zero points from the 10 races.

Can Romain Grosjean Stay in Haas for 2021?

The chances of seeing Grosjean driving for Haas next season are extremely slim. With the drivers like Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg there for the taking, it would be a surprise if Guenther opts for Grosjean again.

Grosjean too mentions that he is considering options outside Formula 1 too. “I think in the future, Hypercar at Le Mans 24 Hours and the World Endurance Championship can be nice,” said the Frenchman. He mentions that Formula E is “definitely” an option.
