Sebastian Vettel Reportedly Won’t Be Staying in a Hotel During the Austrian Grand Prix

Scuderia Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel won’t be staying in a hotel in Spielberg during the Austrian Grand Prix. Instead, the 4 times World Champion will be staying in a personal motorhome at the circuit. According to a report by Motorsport Italy, several other drivers will also be using motorhomes instead of hotels.

“Each team has three of these cabins at their disposal, which form a U-shaped structure where a small outdoor space with tables has also been set up.

“Several drivers have chosen to sleep in the racetrack area, in personal motorhomes that can be parked in spaces usually dedicated to the public or for promotional activities”

“And among them is Sebastian Vettel” reports Motorsport Italy.
In keeping with safety standards, Ferrari’s Sporting Director Laurent Mekies recently disclosed the team’s strategy to ensure maximum isolation. Mekies revealed that Ferrari would be dividing the team into 2 ‘bubbles’. Each bubble would consist of members from Vettel and Leclerc’s side of the garage.
“Inside a team — so inside the team bubble, which is inside the F1 bubble — we will also do more bubbles.
“So you will probably have the ‘Car 16 bubble’ and the ‘Car 5 bubble’”
“And inside them probably engineers and mechanics and so on and so forth.
“Why? In order to be as resilient as possible if there is a positive case”

“In order to ensure that the number of people that came into contact with that individual is as minimal as possible.” Mekies was quoted by Racer.
Can Ferrari challenge for the win?
F1 finally begins racing this week with the Austrian Grand Prix. Unfortunately, Ferrari aren’t favorites heading into the race weekend. Team principal Mattia Binotto revealed that the Italian team didn’t have the “fastest package” for the race in Spielberg.

Ferrari is abandoning its current design philosophy to recalibrate the SF1000 with a revamped program. The Scuderia is aiming to bring its first upgrades at the Hungarian Grand Prix, which is the third race of the season.
Despite not having a competitive car, the biggest thing to look out for is the dynamic between Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel. With little to lose, we could see the Sebastian of old when the lights go out on Sunday.
