The 2022 season of Formula 1 has provided us with some thrilling battles across the grid. With 5 races completed, the teams will return to Europe this time around. The Spanish GP has been host to some excellent racing action throughout the years and this time, its importance cannot be understated.

With several teams bringing massive upgrades, they will hope to gather data ahead of the race. Last time out, the weather was not kind as the cars went racing in a hot Miami. Moreover, the drivers suffered from dehydration and massive tire degradation. With the Spanish GP around the corner, it’s time to look at the weather forecast for the race week.

Spanish GP weather forecast

The race week begins on Friday with two free practice sessions. On Friday, the weather for the Spanish GP is set to be dry, bright, and warm, with some breeze in the afternoon. The temperature is expected to be around 29 degrees Celsius with 0 percent chance of rain.

It is certainly good news for the teams, as the two free practice sessions will provide necessary data and measure the progress they have made.

On Saturday, the schedule sees FP3 and the all important qualifying session. Saturday’s forecast is bright and clear, with a light breeze in the afternoon. There is once again no chance of rain, and the forecasters expect the temperature to be around 27-30 degrees Celsius for FP3 and qualifying.

The weather in Barcelona for the main event on Sunday is once again very similar to the previous two days. There is 0 percent chance of rain and it will remain dry all day long. The temperature in the air during the race is anticipated to be around 30 degrees Celsius.

The weather is certainly kind and predictable for the teams this time around. However, tire degradation could come into play and the teams will look to develop strategies to combat it.

Ferrari v Red Bull in the Spanish GP?

Ferrari v Red Bull has been the theme this season. While the Bulls have been bringing necessary upgrades with every passing race, Ferrari is bringing a whole new package to Barcelona.

As a result, this will certainly be an important race in the championship’s context. The F1-75 has been yielding results, but Red Bull has outwitted the Maranello outfit in the last two races. Hence, the upgrades could play a huge part as the season progresses.

The circuit in Barcelona is also different from the ones we have seen so far. The corners vary from high to low speed and it will be challenging, to say the least.
