Lewis Hamilton is having a poor season, and the seven-time world champion is struggling with the 2022 Mercedes challenger. Hamilton hasn’t bagged a single race win in 2022. So, the poor run can end Hamilton’s consecutive victory in Spain.

The 37-year-old Englishman dominated for a long-time, but his domination might end in 2022. Hamilton has won the Spanish GP in five consecutive seasons, with his latest one was in last season.

However, the struggling form has raised many questions among fans: will Hamilton be able to extend his Spanish GP win to six victories? This season’s favorites to win the Barcelona race are Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen, the two leading contenders for the 2022 championship title.

Further, the 2021 world champion Verstappen finished second last season, and, looking at his form in the last two races, the Red Bull driver is most likely to finish P1 in the upcoming race. Further, the Spanish GP is the home race for Carlos Sainz, so he’s also among the favorites to win the upcoming race in Spain.

FIA might ban Lewis Hamilton for Monaco GP

The governing authority of F1 got a new race director, Niels Wittich, for the 2022 season. The new race director introduced rules like a ban on jewelry and mandated the F1 drivers to wear fireproof underwear.

However, the F1 drivers didn’t like the new rules, and many drivers revolted against these rules. Lewis Hamilton is one driver who most hated the new rules. The Mercedes driver even showed up at the Miami GP press conference wearing multiple watches and jewelry.

Later, FIA had a long conversation with Hamilton and allowed him to race only wearing his nose stud, which is hard to remove. But they gave him a race period of two races, after which he might have to face the consequences. So, if Lewis appears at the Monaco GP with jewelry, then he might not be able to race in the principality.

Even the FIA President Mohammed bin Sulayem said, “It’s like if someone speeds on the roads – you can’t stop them doing it, but they get fined, even if it was accidental. You can’t let people off because they are your friends. There has to be one rule for all, and that’s that.”
