The qualifying session for the 2020 Styrian Grand Prix was a chaotic affair because of the wet conditions wreaking havoc. There were several victims who fell afoul to the damp and soggy weather, and one of them was Antonio Giovinazzi.
The Alfa Romeo driver dropped the ball and lost control, eventually clipping the barrier lightly. The incident brought out a red flag, to the dismay of several drivers including teammate Kimi Raikkonen.
Unfortunately for Raikkonen, by the time he got the order that the red flags were out, he had passed the pit lane entry. So, Kimi Raikkonen being Kimi Raikkonen swore on the team radio.

Luckily, the team was able to pacify him and told him to carry on and come in eventually.

The Finnish veteran was extremely close to edging out Kevin Magnussen for a spot in Q2. Sadly, Giovinazzi’s crash prevented him from improving his position and making it into the top 15.
Joining the Alfa Romeo duo were Sergio Perez, Nicholas Latifi, and Romain Grosjean.

Grosjean was already having a forgettable day after he ran wide and didn’t take part in the rest of the session. With Giovinazzi’s late spin, the battle was between Raikkonen, Latifi, Perez, and Magnussen.
Unfortunately, the red flags flew out so that marshals could retrieve the stricken Alfa Romeo.

As a result of this, the Dane could breathe a sigh of relief while the other three were left to rue what could have been. This year, the Alfa Romeo team has struggled a lot, starting from the season opener last week.
Kimi Raikkonen is also looking for redemption after a dismal display at the Red Bull Ring.
Last weekend, his race ended after an ill-fitting tyre decided to separate itself and complete the race on its own. Fortunately, Giovinazzi was able to pick up two points for the team, but Raikkonen will be eager to open his account.
