Red Bull did not have the best of starts to the season. With 2 race wins in the first 3 races, it looked like Ferrari was finally on a resurgence. Lewis Hamilton draws a hilarious parallel to Red Bull’s controversy-marred season
As the season progressed, rumors started coming in that Red Bull were guilty of breaching the cost cap in 2021. FIA confirmed the rumors when they released the cost cap report. The team was fined $7 million and had their wind tunnel time reduced by 10%. Later in the season, Max Verstappen refused to let his teammate Sergio Perez pass, defying team orders in Brazil.

Mercedes duo Lewis Hamilton and George Russell recently sat down to look back at the most memorable moments of the season. Lewis admitted he could not recognize most of the photos but picked one that stood out to him. He picked out a photo of him holding his back after the race in Baku concluded. The 7-time world champion suffered severe back pain because of W13’s porpoising issue that got worse on Baku’s bumpy track.
He recalled, “The one I remember is this one (him holding his back). This one is the one I remember the most just because of the pain I was in. That weekend I went lower than you (George Russell) on the rear. Ride height was much lower. It was much worse on my car. But painful for both of us, I think.”
