The Disturbing Reality Behind Lando Norris’ Impeccable Race to F1 Points at the Spanish GP

In the sweltering heat of Barcelona, McLaren’s Lando Norris, who wasn’t feeling well the entire weekend, managed to hang on for 66 laps till the finish line. It is now revealed that Norris has been diagnosed with tonsillitis. As he skipped his post-race media commitments to consult the team doctor, Team Principal Andreas Seidl gave an update on the young Briton.

“Obviously when you’re not feeling well all weekend and when your energy levels are low with the tonsillitis he was suffering from it was a very challenging race especially in these hot temperatures as well,” the German said. “He was pretty flat after the race but thanks to the great medical support within the team and he has around him.”

Andreas stressed that it was now important to make sure that Lando gets an adequate amount of rest before Monaco. He was also thankful to Norris for driving in such conditions. The McLaren boss concluded that the doctor had given the green light to let Norris drive for the race.
McLaren went a step backward with upgrades
Lando Norris finished a respectable P8 and four places ahead of his teammate Daniel Ricciardo. Describing his energy levels as the “worst I’ve had in a long time”, the Briton came through for his team.
On the other hand, when asked where was the pace in his car, Ricciardo answered, “That is the question that I will be searching for in the debrief and the next few hours.”
