Twitter Goes Berserk as Lewis Hamilton Exits Q1 for the First Time in 5 Years

The 2022 season continues to surprise with every session! For the first time since Brazil 2017, 7 times world champion Lewis Hamilton was knocked out of Q1 in qualifying. The result was especially shocking as his teammate George Russell finished the Q1 session in P4 and fought amongst the leaders.

The Mercedes driver was struggling throughout the session and could not get into his rhythm. He started the session on medium tires, but could not set a competitive time on them.

His misery was compounded even more, as he could not extract the best out of the soft tires when he needed to.

Hamilton‘s elimination sent the whole motorsport world into a shock, as this is a very rare sight. The F1 fans took to Twitter to share their shock at the result and posted some hilarious memes.

It also disappointed the Mercedes AMG team with the result, and they took to social media to express their emotions.
