“Unfair to Comment If Someone Is Treated Badly or Not”- Kimi Raikkonen Shares His Thoughts on Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari’s Relationship

Earlier this year, Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel chose to part ways at the end of 2020. Of course, this led to a lot of speculation that Vettel and Ferrari’s relationship was flagging.
However, former teammate Kimi Raikkonen highly doubts that that is the case. The 2007 world champion is confident that Ferrari treats him and Charles Leclerc equally.
Last weekend, Sebastian Vettel revealed that Ferrari never approached him for an extension. What further arose suspicions was the fact that his and Ferrari’s stories contradict each other.

Having partnered Vettel from 2015 to 2018, Raikkonen knows the German very well. It also helps that the two are close personal friends off the track.
Recently, he spoke to Autosport on the notion of Scuderia Ferrari treating Sebastian Vettel unfairly. The straight-talking Finn believes that the idea of the Ferrari-Sebastian Vettel relationship flagging is a bit overblown.
What did Kimi Raikkonen say about Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari?
“Honestly, I spoke to him last weekend, quickly when we saw each other, I think it was before the start, and that’s all that I know,” Raikkonen said.
“I don’t know what is going on there, it’s none of my business. I think it’s unfair to comment if someone is treated badly or not because I don’t know what is going on. I doubt that they have as bad relationship as people are making out.”

According to the 40-year old people should not look too much into the relationship, especially after just one race. Even he has not had it easy when he joined Alfa Romeo in 2019.
Kimi Raikkonen also cited himself as an example, especially after his own departure from Ferrari. The news broke around the time of the 2018 Italian Grand Prix, with seven races still remaining on the calendar.
However, he insisted that Ferrari never treated him any differently once his departure was confirmed. He said, “No, absolutely not. I’m certain that they get exactly the same treatment, both of them. It’s in their benefit to try to get the best result on both cars, so I don’t see why they would do anything else.”
