Sadly, no Formula One driver will be able to sample the Zandvoort Circuit in real life. However, the upcoming F1 2020 game will offer everyone their first look at the circuit. Recently, Codemasters released gameplay footage of an F1 car taking a lap around the Zandvoort circuit.
Admittedly, the circuit is quite fast and flowing, and the banked corner provides a nice challenge. Obviously, the game is still a work in progress, and nothing is finalised yet. However this is better than nothing at all, and fans finally get a glimpse of the circuit in all its glory.

What did Codemasters say about the new F1 venue?
According to game director Lee Mather, “Zandvoort is a traditional-style racing venue, which was last on the calendar back in 1985. It’s located amongst the sand dunes where the coastline meets the North Sea. The track has seen a great deal of work done on it in preparation for the 2020 Formula 1 season, not least in having a unique banked curve added to the final corner. It’s a technical and exciting circuit with height variation, blind crests and unsighted braking points and corner apexes. It’s an onslaught on the senses and doesn’t give the player a break.”

For obvious reasons, the gameplay footage showed the F1 2020 car in a Red Bull skin, and Max Verstappen driving it. It seemed only fitting that a Dutch driver does a lap on a Dutch circuit. Admittedly, Verstappen did have a go on the real circuit, though it was on the older iteration of the track.
