F2 got ready for their return to circuits as the cars hit the tarmac for the Saudi Arabian GP. However, soon into the practice session, American driver Logan Sargeant crashed into the walls of the F1 circuit.

Around 30 minutes into the session, Logan Sargeant brought out the red flag as after a terrifying crash in Turn 22. the driver ran back into the outside wall, and the situation didn’t look to go. However, soon the driver confirmed his status, while they carried away his heavily damaged Racelab machine.

It was a corner F1 driver George Russell had warned of in the press conferences. The corner looks extremely tight; yet drivers will attack this in sixth gear. Russell mentioned clipping the inside wall could lead to a big shunt- all of which Sargeant endured.

Luckily the F1 drivers are alright and in fr medical checks. With an exciting weekend ahead of him, we wish to see Logan back in his F2 tub.

A bad start for F2 ahead of F1 Saudi Arabian GP

Before Sargeant’s red flag, they delayed the entire session due to operational difficulties. Further, there has also been news of the paddock floor being unstable. The Jeddah circuit was only completed last week and on Friday, the FIA officially approved the track. It is to be hoped that the track will not cause any further problems during the rest of the weekend.

Despite the crash, championship leader Oscar Piastri rounded up tyhe top 10 while his Prema teammate topped the timesheets. Although the Australian has a comfortable 36 points going into the race on Sunday, it has been an exciting run for the feeder series as well.
