Earlier this month, Sergio Perez made an announcement that he will leave Racing Point by the end of this season. But now the Mexican has confessed that it “hurts” leaving a team that is looking to be stronger next season.

Sergio Perez is still on the hunt for a seat in Formula 1. With teams like Alpha Tauri, Alfa Romeo, and Haas yet to reveal their line-ups, it is possible that he will find a drive.

Perez opened up his thoughts on how Racing Point would be from the next season. “I know I’m leaving a car that is looking great for next year. Definitely the team will be stronger next year than this year.

Sebastian Vettel is slated to replace Sergio Perez at the Racing Point come 2021. Hours after Perez announced departure, Vettel revealed that he will feature behind the wheel of one of the Aston Martins next year. Vettel will line up alongside Lance Stroll.

The team is also looking forward to running under the name of Aston Martin Racing, from the next season.
