What Is the McLaren Driver Lineup for the 2021 F1 Season?

F1 harbors the best drivers in their sporting realm. The racers hop from their teams after their term ends to another team. The 2021 F1 drivers’ lineup, according to their individual teams, is already on air.

The 2021 season will witness an array of drivers changing their seats. While some have left their seats, many others will enter the F1 arena for the first time.

The McLaren team, which runs on engines powered by Renault, stands third in the 2020 season. Further, with Carlos Sainz ranking (105 points) and Lando Norris ranking ninth (97 points). the team secured 202 points.

However, Sainz will part ways with McLaren in 2021, moving to the red team, Scuderia Ferrari. Further, it will be an impressive start for the Spaniard. Racing in a team that has dominated for eons is every driver’s wish.

The now-former McLaren racer will replace Sebastian Vettel and race alongside Charles Leclerc while Vettel makes his way to Aston Martin.

The lineup for McLaren includes Daniel Ricciardo, the 2020 Renault driver. However, their deal with Lando Norris remains pact. They will compete as teammates in the 2021 season, eyeing the podium stand.

The two will race to earn the highest points for the constructors too. With the thunderous engines, the racers will have a plus point in the course.

Ricciardo sealed the deal with McLaren

The Australian, after a two-year stay in Renault, is swimming away to McLaren. Two years ago, Ricciardo turned down McLaren’s proposal and grabbed the Renault seat. However, with time narrowing down for the 30-year-old racer, he joined McLaren with conviction to clinch the World Championship.

The team boss of the British racing team, Zak Brown, had presented his proposal to Ricciardo after his striking performance in 2018. However, he joined Renault in aspiration to figure out his way and live a more posh life. Nevertheless, his plans slipped down to vein when he barely made his way to the podium stand.

With McLaren running on engines powered by the dominant brand, Mercedes, there are high hopes for the team to leap its way into the list of dominant constructors.

Zak Brown approached Ricciardo again for the season when he signed the deal with McLaren. He will be Lando Norris’ teammate, the Belgian-British racer. Lando will continue to race with car number four.

Brown remarked on the benefits of signing Ricciardo. He has substantial potential, talent, and adheres to structural strategies that will help the team move forward. Further, he has the speed and extreme competitiveness required to scurry his way to clinch the titles.

Brown stated, “Signing Daniel is another step forward in our long-term plan and will bring an exciting new dimension to the team, alongside Lando.” He further added, “This is good news for our team, partners and of course our fans.”

Brown further wanted the Austrian racer to show his appreciation towards the McLaren former racer, Carlos Sainz, who has helped the team lead forward in his course in the team.

He conveyed, “I also want to pay tribute to Carlos for the excellent job he has been doing for McLaren in helping our performance recovery plan. He is a real team player and we wish him well for his future beyond McLaren.”

McLaren will witness an active competition of its racers, aiming for podium finishes and titles. Further, with powerful engines and high speed, Ricciardo will race in prospect to earn the World Title in the 2021 season.
