Mick Schumacher is currently at the top of the Formula 1 driver championships. With 191 points, he is 22 points clear of the rest of the grid, with two more races to go this season. However, Schumacher believes that the championship is still wide open.
He believes that drivers currently at P6 also have the chance to seize the championship and is not ready to take the last two races for granted. “It will be important to be fast and smart. I am in a position to win,” said Schumacher.
The German is expected to make his Formula 1 debut next season. He was scheduled for a practice session with Alfa Romeo at the Eifel Grand Prix. However, the practice was called off because of poor weather conditions.

Schumacher admitted that he was sad for missing out on the chance, but clarified that he is ready to join Formula 1.
“Sure, but I learned a lot that weekend. I was in a Formula 1 team, I saw how they work and how they think. I will treasure it. There is a lot of pressure, even if I have always been under pressure and I feel ready,” he further added.

Schumacher was rumored to join Alfa Romeo for the 2021 season. However, the team announced earlier last month that they will continue with Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Raikkonen.
The 21-year-old stated that he would have surely gained a lot as Kimi’s partner. He said, “It would have been fantastic, but I don’t criticize the decision. Kimi is a great rider, I could have learned a lot from him, but it all happens for a reason.”
