The all-female racing series, W Series, has taken the motorsport world by storm. Although the series had only 6 races, not including a non-championship race, it produced plenty of great racing action among 20 of the best female racers. Among them was Liechtenstein racer, Fabienne Wohlwend.

Ahead of the season finale in Brands Hatch, Wohlwend was racing in the 2019 VLN Series, or, Veranstaltergemeinschaft Langstreckenpokal Nürburgring. However, she suffered a massive crash when her car spun out of control and hit the barriers hard.

On Twitter, she wrote, Sometimes being strong is the only option you have The past 1.5 weeks were extreme – I had to overcome the biggest crash of my entire career before the most important race weekend of W Weries Racing, luckily I walked away with bruises only.”

During the W Series race itself, a week later, she proved that she was unfazed by the crash and managed to finish 5th. It showed a real testament to how tough racing drivers are, regardless of gender.
