Canada’s rising star Felix Auger-Aliassime has emerged on the main stage over the last couple of years. He was the youngest player among the top 25 in the world. Having achieved a career-high ranking of 17 in the world, the 20-year-old is set to have a lively career ahead of him. 

For the second consecutive season, the Canadian has ended the year in the top 25 rankings. Recently, Felix was seen practicing at the Rafa Nadal Academy. Auger-Aliassime has been there for a few days now, escaping the cold winters of Canada. It does seem a practical decision considering how cold it gets out there.

Prior to his first knock, Felix, who was accompanied by his coach Frédéric Fontang, was seen having a brief chat with Rafael Nadal himself. The youngster was being watched by Rafa’s uncle, Toni Nadal. As a young player who has just arrived on the scene, it would be an honor to receive inputs from the man behind the creation of Rafael Nadal.

The Canadian then had a knock with an academy player.

Speaking of the Canadian, he’s had a stop-start year as far as his performances this year are concerned. Felix was knocked out in the opening rounds at the Australian Open and French Open. However, he had a decent run at the US Open before bowing out to the eventual winner, Dominic Thiem. 

Later on, he made it to the Masters final held in Cologne, but lost to the German Alexander Zverev. However, Felix partnered with Hubert Hurkacz at Bercy and clinched the doubles title. 

In 2019, Auger-Aliassime had been part of Canada’s Davis Cup team. He also reached the final at three ATP Masters.
