In the men’s game, Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev have been the most dominant players this season. The manner in which they have competed against each other in some of the most important matches this season has been breathtaking.

Recently, tournament director for the 2021 Davis Cup, Fernando Verdasco spoke about Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev. He felt that since both players are representing their nations at the Davis Cup 2021, it would be great to see them compete in a final showdown before the season ends. While Fernando was disappointed by Spain’s exit, he was happy that the tournament was being contested at a high level.

Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev have met a few times in 2021

Serbia and Russia, the teams that Nole and Daniil are representing respectively, have made it to the quarter-finals of the ongoing tournament. Serbia will take on Kazakhstan and Russia will face Sweden in their match. Since they’re on opposite sides of the draw, they will face each other in the final if both teams progress to that stage.

Germany and Croatia have already made it to the semi-finals. If the Daniil-Novak encounter does happen, it will be an astonishing 4th final which they will compete in against each other this year.
