An abysmal performance from Argentina coupled with a devastating mistake from goalkeeper Willy Caballero meant that the Last Albicelestes suffered a damning 3-0 defeat to Croatia in the FIFA World Cup.
 For Leo Messi and his men, this was a must win game following their poor performance against Iceland but they failed to up the ante once again. Goals from Rebic, Modric and Rakitic sealed a memorable win for the Europeans, who have made it to the Knockout stages of the Cup. While Argentina still have a shot at making it to the next stages, their fate largely depends on the performances of other teams in their group.
