Not only have they seen the departure of their club captain, they have also seen their head coach Zinedine Zidane leave the club. But fortunately for Madrid, seasoned veteran and former coach Carlo Ancelotti is back with the Los Blancos.

Eder Militao & David Alaba to feature in Real Madrid defense

In the 2019 transfer window, Real made some big name signings like Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic. While the likes of Hazard and Jovic have struggled for playtime, left back Ferland Mendy became a mainstay.

While last season Real were linked with the likes of Jules Kounde, they now have different plans. According to insider Lucas Navarrete, Ancelotti is keen on keeping the Brazilian in the defense line alongside the likes of David Alaba, Nacho Fernandes to name a few.

Militao certainly was impressive for Real in Sergio Ramos’ absence. Given his performances, Militao deserves an increased role in the club. With a much more versatile David Alaba alongside the Brazilian, Los Blancos’ defense looks all-set.

Gareth Bale to make his return in Real’s electrifying attack

When Real signed Welshman Gareth Bale in 2013, it seemed like a great move for the Spaniards. While they did pay a hefty amount for the winger, Bale impressed and was pivotal in Real’s historic run of 4 champions league triumphs in 5 years.

But for the last two years, Bale’s playtime has decreased rapidly. With Zinedine Zidane at the helm of the club, the Welshman’s departure looked imminent. But with Madrid’s limited budget, Carlo Ancelotti is set to welcome back the 32-year-old to Real’s offense.

According to a latest report by AS, the Italian boss is set to treat Bale as a new signing and will try to incorporate the Welshman in the club. Ancelotti certainly brought the best out of Bale in his trademark 4-3-3.

While he might not the electrifying speedster, we saw back in 2014, Bale has developed into a lethal off-ball threat and gives out some lethal crosses as well. The veteran winger showed that he can still perform at a high level in his loan spell with the Spurs. If he can continue the same form, he will once again be a mainstay in Real’s attack.

A new look midfield for Los Merengues

Real Madrid have some excellent midfielders in their ranks. While other superclubs have resorted to younger talented midfielders, Real have stuck to their fantastic trio of Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric.

While the trio has continued to be elite, they certainly limit the playtime of players like Odegaard and Isco. But Carlo Ancelotti might change the outlook for the Los Blancos. The Italian who is all-set to bring in Bale, will also welcome Norwegian young star Martin Odegaard.

While the 23-year-old is set to make his mark in the midfield, Spanish maestro Isco might also see a massive increase in his play-time as well. Isco under Carlo Ancelotti showed that he could be a mainstay in the Los Blancos roster with his brilliant performances.

Starting 49 league games in the two seasons, Isco contributed to a total of 28 goal contributions. But ever since the departure of the Italian, play-time has been inconsistent for the Spaniard.

Given their history, the 29-year-old will surely get his fair share of opportunities to impress the Italian. Real certainly are not looking to make multiple big money signings this season.
