Fortnite Collaboration Saga Continues as Terminator Joins the Hunt, But Fans Are Still Not Happy

Epic Games recently announced an FNCS prize pool of around $20 million. With the recent Fortnite update, one can take a wild guess so as to where all that money is coming from. Following Kratos, Walking Dead, Mandalorian, Predator, and various others, Epic Games has come up with another collaboration.
The killing robot from the future, T-800, and his companion Sarah Connor have arrived to join ‘The Hunt’. Epic Games have teamed up with the Terminator movie franchise for its next collaboration. Both the characters from the movie are going to appear as skins in Fortnite.

Epic released a trailer to reveal its latest partnership.
In the trailer, fans can see Agent Jones, leader of the hunt, save T-800 from melting. He then teleports the killing machine through the Zero Point to bring him into the Fortnite realm. The trend Epic Games has followed in the second chapter of the game has been stellar.
However, the list of collaborations has still failed to impress the fans.
Marvel, Star Wars, Batman, NFL, and so many more could still not make Fortnite interesting
The list of collaborations keeps on getting longer, but it fails to please fans. While these might make for great cosmetics, they do not make up for the lack of interesting gameplay. All these collaborations might have helped Epic rake in millions of dollars for a championship. While it might be great news for professional Fortnite players, it doesn’t tickle the fancy of casual players.

Even NFL and FIFA have collaborated with the Battle Royale game. After actual sports teams, Esports organizations are now looking forward to get a feature in the game. This might be a wonderful opportunity for both sides and could also be a profitable venture for everyone.

The question still remains- is Epic Games focusing more on its Esports audience than the casual players? It has already upset a lot of players with the decision to hold the 2021 FNCS as a cross-platform event.
Moreover, Epic’s higher focus on marketing instead of on the quality of the game is like putting salt on a wound. Epic would need to find a balance between catering to the Esports and casual scene of Fortnite if it plans to retain most of its current players.
