The second Grand Slam event of the year, French Open 2019 will be missing a few of its consistent players and former champions this year due to their injuries, recoveries from their injuries and due to other personal commitments as well. 

1. Kevin Anderson

 Kevin Anderson’s right elbow injury has compelled him to call off his European clay court season, hence we will be missing the French Open 2019.

2. Andy Murray

The 2016 Roland Garros finalist, Andy Murray is recovering from his hip surgery which he underwent in the month of February.

3. Maria Sharapova

The two-time French Open champion, Maria Sharapova was missed the clay season this year due to her right shoulder injury.

4. Milos Raonic

After a phenomenal performance at Indian Wells 2019, the Canadian, Milos Raonic survived one match in Miami and he has not participated in the clay season due to his injured knee.

He flew to Paris for the French Open 2019 but withdrew minutes before the draw ceremony. His withdrawal gave Frances Tiafoe the 32nd seed spot, which ensured an American man to have seeded position in the draw.

5. Tomas Berdych

The Czech flew to Paris, with an intention to play at the French Open 2019 but he withdrew from the tournament due to his back injury.

6. Andrey Rublev

The Russian has been dealing with his right wrist problems lately and hence plans to join the circuit after the French Open 2019.
